Sana’a - SABA:
The local authority in Sana’a Governorate today received a number of development projects in the Bani Hashish District.
Among them was the water project for the Sarab sub-district, implemented by the Northern Sector Association with funding and support from the local authority, as part of this year’s General Administration of Community Initiatives plan. The project cost 13,935,000 Yemeni riyals, with the local authority contributing 10,450,000 riyals and local citizens contributing 3,484,000 riyals. The project will benefit more than 1,500 people.
The final handover was also completed for two educational projects: Imam Al-Hadi School in the Rajam area and the boundary wall for Al-Elm Wal-Iman School in the Maqarish area.
The Imam Al-Hadi School project included the construction of three classrooms, a basement, administrative offices, a staircase, storage rooms, and two restrooms. It was implemented by the Northern Sector Association under the supervision and support of the General Administration of Community Initiatives, at a total cost of 55,508,000 riyals. The local authority contributed 30,539,000 riyals, while citizens contributed 24,969,000 riyals.
The Al-Elm Wal-Iman School wall project cost a total of 8,179,000 riyals, with the local authority contributing 6,135,000 riyals and citizens 2,445,000 riyals. The project was implemented by the Northern Sector Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association under the supervision of the General Administration of Community Initiatives.
During the handover, the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Abdul Qader Al-Jilani, emphasized the importance of sustainable projects—especially water—in alleviating citizens’ suffering, in line with the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council.
He praised the efforts of the Initiatives Administration and the branch of the General Authority for Rural Water in the governorate and commended the active participation of local communities in implementing community-driven projects. He reaffirmed the governorate’s commitment to overcoming any obstacles hindering the implementation of service projects.
Engineer Mohammed Al-Nazari, Director of Community Initiatives, stressed the commitment to implementing sustainable projects that address citizens’ suffering, based on identified priorities and needs.
