SANAA, Sep. 9 (Saba) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday called on the Russian Federation to make more efforts to stop the aggression on Yemen.
The Saudi-led aggression coalition has been bombing Yemen for the sixth year in a row, killing, injuring and displacing hundreds of thousands of people across the country.
Sharaf also called on Russia to carry out further efforts to lift the siege imposed on the Yemeni people in order to reach a political settlement that preserves Yemen's sovereignty and independence.
This came in a congratulatory telegram sent by Minister Sharaf to his counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Russian poet and novelist Leo Tolstoy, who is classified as one of the teachers of the Five BRICS program and project.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that Tolstoy's actions were a call to spread peace and to reject wars and violence in the world.
