SANAA, Sep. 10 (Saba) - A training course in "English Journalism under a slogan ''Focus and Act" organized by the Yemeni Media Union in the support of Genius University of Science and Technology concluded in Sanaa on Thursday.

In conclusion, Deputy Minister of Information Fahmi al-Yousefi stressed the keenness to develop capabilities of media cadres in various aspects, including in English press to convey the grievances of the Yemeni people to international public opinion.

He considered the word a complementary weapon to the military and economic front, indicating the importance of the media's role in confronting the media machine of the aggression countries, and exposing the crimes and massacres committed by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people for nearly six years.

Al-Yousefi indicated that the Yemeni media discourse was freed from the guardianship and hegemony that was subject to foreign embassies, expressing hope that the national media cadres would assume the role assigned to them in making news and a media message enhancing steadfastness in the face of aggression.

He emphasized that the curricula of many Yemeni university colleges are useless, which required the Ministry of Higher Education to develop them through simultaneous translation, especially with regard to the translation of Islamic culture and its transmission to the world.

Al-Yousefi stressed the need for continued training and qualification, especially self-training via making use of information technology and Internet to develop abilities and self-skills.

Mohammed al-Shar'e, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Saba News Agency - Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and in charge of training and qualification at the Yemeni Media Union, referred to the importance of the English Journalism course in light of the current situation that the country is going through due to the aggression and siege so as to convey the grievances of the Yemeni people to the world.

The English training course came with the aim of developing the capabilities of 15 media professionals of various national media insinuations to enhance media cadres, including English journalism.
