SANA'A, October 31. 2022 (Saba) - The leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, on Monday stressed the need to facilitate marriage and reduce its costs and dowries.
In his speech at the third collective wedding organized by the General Authority for Zakat in Sana’a for 10, 044 brides and grooms, the leader of the revolution pointed out that many customs and obligations that are added to marriage are burdens that obstruct youths to marry.
He pointed out that the enemies seek to exploit the complexities of marriage to spread corruption through their soft war on Yemen.
Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi congratulated the grooms on the blessed collective wedding, paying tribute to the workers in the General Authority for Zakat, who had a great role in establishing this blessed ritual.
He said, "The role played by the Zakat Authority in all areas related to the poor and the comprehensive concern for them, at the level of health care and relief, and economic empowerment programs, and at the level of concern for the debtors and the insolvent, comes within the framework of divine instructions and within the limits of legal restraint."
Abdulmalik al-Houthi said that organizations that operate based on bad and exploitative goals harm the dignity, morals and values of society.
The Leader of the Revolution pointed out that the role played by the Zakat Authority which comes within the framework of reviving one of the pillars of Islam and one of the greatest obligations of God in which there is good for all people, starting with those who give Zakat as Zakat represents purification for their souls and a blessing and growth for their money, and it has a positive impact in establishing the principle of Social integration, strengthening ties between members of society, providing relief to the needy and helping the poor and needy as well.
He pointed out that zakat has its importance from all sides, and these effects and blessings extend to social and security stability and economic prosperity, and it has wide effects that are testimonies and evidence of the wisdom of God Almighty.
He said, "We witness the importance of this obligation, which the Qur'an has emphasized so much, to the extent that the command to it in many Qur'anic verses is combined with the command to establish prayer.
He explained that giving zakat has its great effects and great blessings and good results in souls and it strengthens social ties, reduces the suffering of the poor and needy, addresses many life problems, fixes and stabilizes life.
The Leader of the Revolution stated that God made this pillar a solution to a major problem in the social reality and what contributes to achieving happiness for the Muslim community, so it is important to take care of paying zakat and paying it out to those who deserve it.
He stressed the importance of the role of the Authority in organizing the disbursement Zakat in a way that addresses many problems in reality through well-thought-out and organized programmes.
He said, "The Authority is making a great effort as its performance is largely successful and tangible in reality, whoever has observations or advice or wants to present or contribute something that supports the work of the Authority let him/her present it to the Authority.
He pointed out that the enemies of Islam, led by America and Israel, and those who co-operate with them, fought the obligation of Zakat for decades and tried to divert it from its path in order to the society loses its values, and they also tried to deprive society of its blessings and the connection it represents to God Almighty.
He continued, "Today, there is a great opportunity to revive this great pillar through the efforts of official and popular authorities to do so within the direction of our people's faith, which embodies its affiliation and faith identity, which the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, expressed by saying, "Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni."
The Leader of the Revolution stressed the importance of facilitating the costs of marriage, following the example of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family.
The Leader of the Revolution urged the Muslim community to embody its identity, affiliation, and faith commitments in holding weddings and to avoid negative phenomena that affect this identity or harm society and its stability such as shooting bullets at weddings because of their danger to people’s security and lives, as well as manifestations of extravagance and other negatives things that are incompatible with identity and faith values of Islam.
He called for staying away from negative phenomena that annoy the members of society, such as using loudspeakers at night as it disturbs people and their lives, peace and stability.
He said, "We should leave these phenomena and beware of them so that the occasion of joy for some people does not turn into a disturbance for others, especially during the night. This is not necessary in any social, religious or other occasion."
The Leader of the Revolution added, "We also advise the sons of our society, the young men and women, to turn to God willing, to the formation of their believing families, families whose life is based on divine principles and instructions that achieve happiness for society, and also prepare for married life to be a good life.
