GAZA February 14. 2024 (Saba) - The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has called on international institutions to work immediately to protect al-Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, which is subject to severe Zionist aggression and siege.
According to the Palestinian Information Center, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra called on UN institutions to “prevent the health and humanitarian catastrophe to which medical personnel, the wounded, and the displaced are exposed.”
The Ministry of Health had reported that the Zionist enemy forces demolished the northern wall of al-Nasser Medical Complex, and informed the complex’s administration to evacuate the displaced and spare the patients and health personnel.
At the same time, Nazi soldiers shoot the displaced people when they tried to leave, killing and injuring others.
The Ministry pointed out that health personnel, patients and those accompanying them in the hospital are now in extreme danger.
It reported that sewage water is flooding the emergency department at al-Nasser Hospital and hindering the work of health teams, and there is also an increase in the accumulation of waste in the hospital departments.
The ministry explained "This heralds a health catastrophe from the spread of epidemics and contamination of patients' wounds."
Medical sources reported that the Zionist enemy army targeted schools surrounding al-Nasser Hospital, catching fire and fire spreading to the medical equipment store, burning it completely, as well as burning of 80 percent of the medical supplies store.
Al-Nasser Hospital administration cannot transfer martyrs and dead patients to the mortuary because of the severe danger resulting from the attacks of the Zionist enemy, according to eyewitnesses.
