GAZA May 17. 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that more than 630,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from Rafah since the start of the Zionist military offensive on it on the sixth of May.
The agency said in a statement on its platform on "X" on Friday: Since the start of the military offensive on Rafah on the sixth of May, more than 630,000 people have been forced to flee the area, while the people of Gaza are still subjected to forced displacement. Stressing that immediate fire must be fired.
Many have sought refuge in Deir al-Balah, which is now unbearably overcrowded and suffering from dire conditions.
On the sixth of May, the Zionist enemy forces issued displacement orders that affected 250,000 people east of Rafah, amid heavy bombardment, before starting hours later an incursion and occupying the Rafah border crossing and decommissioning it.
In the following days, enemy forces expanded their aggression and issued more displacement orders amid more bombardment that led to hundreds of martyrs and injuries.
Rafah was a safe haven for more than 1.5 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip before tens of thousands began their gradual displacement amid threats to invade it.
