GAZA August 01. 2024 (Saba) -The Palestinian prisoner Islam Al-Sarsawi (42 years old) from the neighborhood of Shujaiya in Gaza, was martyred inside the prisons of the Zionist enemy.
The Palestine Today Agency quoted the Prisoners' Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club, on Thursday, in a statement, that Al-Sarsawi was arrested during the recent storming of Al-Shifa Hospital, as a result of being tortured inside the camp (Sde Timan), which is one of dozens who rose in the prisons and camps of the occupation and the occupation continues to hide their identities.
According to confirmed data, Sarsawi was martyred four months ago, according to the statement, which pointed out that this information was obtained by the authority and the club with certainty about his fate today.
He stated that the prisoner martyr Sarsawi works as an officer in the police service, and was arrested with dozens of people inside the Shifa Hospital, and their fate or places of detention were not revealed at the time, due to the crime of enforced disappearance.
The institutions of the international community called for immediate action to stop the crime of enforced disappearance, and the escalating crimes of torture in an unprecedented manner - in their intensity - inside the occupation prisons and camps, and not to leave prisoners prey to the occupation prison administration and its systematic policy, which today has more support than ever and by a political decision from the settler government, to kill them, as the prisoners face the harshest and most severe stages due to the crimes of torture and humiliation.
The statement called for speeding up the formation of a UN investigation committee with a comprehensive mandate to investigate all crimes committed by the occupation against prisoners and prisoners, and for the human rights system to emerge from the state of inability to stop the war of extermination and prisoner aggression, which constitutes another face of it.
He confirmed the number of prisoners in the occupation prisons reached more than (9900), and this data does not include all detainees from Gaza.
