Ibb - Saba:
The Coffee Harvest Festival was launched on Monday in Wadi Shi'an, Al-Qafar District, Ibb Province, as part of the celebration of the third anniversary of the coffee revolution, under the slogan "The development and marketing of coffee is our responsibility."

The festival aims to improve and develop the productivity of this important cash crop.

The festival, organized by the agricultural sector in the province, the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, in cooperation with the Federation of Coffee Producers and Exporters Associations, aims to improve and develop the productivity of this important cash crop and expand its cultivation to be a sustainable tributary of the national economy.

At the inauguration event, the CEO of the General Organization for Coffee Development and Marketing, Mana Al-Assal, stressed the importance of the festival in introducing the stages of coffee cultivation and production, focusing on the challenges , difficulties facing farmers, and sensitizing them to the importance of expanding the cultivation of coffee.

Mohammed Othman, President of the Cooperative Union of Coffee Producers, considered the festival an opportunity to build a fruitful relationship between coffee farmers and traders, exchange experiences and knowledge among participants. He pointed out the importance of integrating efforts to qualify and train farmers, and provide their needs for seedlings, water sources, irrigation networks, production inputs, plant pest control and others.

He pointed out that coffee is an important cash crop that supports the national economy with hard currency through its export revenues to most of the world's markets.

For his part, the agricultural sector official in the province, Engineer Hamoud Al-Rasas, explained that the festival aims to revive the symbolism of coffee, enhance the integration relationship between coffee producers, traders, companies and related authorities, in addition to introducing the varieties, qualities and characteristics of Yemeni coffee in general and Adeni coffee in particular.

Engineer Al-Rasas appreciated the interest of agricultural development partners, led by the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the province, in supporting activities to expand the cultivation of coffee and increase its productivity.

The Director of Coffee Development at the General Organization for Coffee Development and Marketing, Mohammed Hareth, reviewed sound agricultural practices in the cultivation and production of coffee, which contributes to restoring its historical status.
