LONDON August 18. 2024 (Saba) - Manchester City began its journey in the English Premier League by defeating Chelsea 2-0 in the match that brought them together on Sunday, in the first round of the competition.

Manchester City scored the first goal in the match in the 19th minute through its Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, assisted by Portuguese Bernardo Silva.

Manchester City succeeded once again in shaking the Blues' net through Croatian Mateo Kovacic, who fired the mercy bullet in the 84th minute of the match.

With this victory, Manchester City has collected the first three points in its journey to retain its title in the English Premier League, while Chelsea will have to improve its position in the coming rounds.
