SANA'A August 19. 2024 (Saba) – A training course focused on the principles of demography commenced on Monday at the Central Statistical Organization in the capital Sana'a.
The five-day course aims to enhance the skills of participants in predicting and modeling statistical and economic data using the Eviews software package.
At the opening, Fares al-Jahmi, Undersecretary of the Central Statistical Organization, highlighted the course's importance in boosting trainees' understanding of demographic concepts and their ability to predict and model data.
This training is part of the agency's annual program designed to elevate the capabilities of its personnel and improve the accuracy of statistical data and information.
Al-Jahmi emphasized that skilled human resources are essential for national development and that the Central Statistical Organization is committed to ongoing training to ensure the provision of reliable data for decision-making and policy formulation.
The course will cover topics including demographic indicators, measurement tools, age and gender population structures, fertility, migration, mortality, disease status, population policy, and the application of automated programs in demographic analysis.
