MOSCOW August 20. 2024 (Saba) - Dmitry Polansky, the first deputy permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations, called on Germany to disclose details of the investigation into the "Nord Stream" case in the UN Security Council.
TASS quoted Polansky as saying: "Western countries are trying to hint that they still believe in the integrity and professionalism of the German investigation, and they said the same thing about the Swedish investigation.. And you remember that their only conclusion is that the "Nord Stream" has actually been blown up.. This is the brilliant result of this investigation, and therefore we have serious doubts about it."
He added: "But this is not the question now, the question now is that Germany must share with the Security Council what it has at the moment.. This is its responsibility, and we expect this to happen in the near future."
He continued, saying: "Of course, at some point, we will draw the Security Council's attention to this matter, most likely, in an explicit briefing."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on Berlin to answer all Moscow's questions about the Nord Stream pipeline explosion, saying: "They must stop categorically refusing to announce the discovered facts... They withhold from us information that we request through official channels but which suddenly appears in the press... This confirms that the operation was completely planned."
