HODEIDA August 25. 2024 (Saba) - The head of the Presidential Committee to address flood damage in Hodeida, Raymah and Hajjah provinces, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, along with the heads of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, and the Road Maintenance Fund, Eng. Nabil Al-Haifi, inspected on Sunday the damage to the coastal line in Hodeida due to floods.

They inspected, along with the Director of Projects at the General Corporation for Roads, Eng. Sadiq Al-Jarbani, the damage caused by floods to the coastal line and the surrounding areas.

Dr. Maqbouli stressed that the committee's visit to Al-Hodeida Province comes in implementation of the revolutionary leadership directives and the Supreme Political Council to review the extent of the damage and find urgent solutions.

He urged the leadership of the Road Maintenance Fund and the General Roads Corporation to address the damage to the coastal line urgently.

In turn, the head of the Road Maintenance Fund stressed the fund's keenness to support efforts to address flood damage in the Province.

He announced the provision of twenty million riyals to clear many dirt roads damaged by rain and floods.

In addition, Maqbouli, Al-Hadrami and Al-Haifi were briefed on the emergency work carried out by the Roads and Bridges Corporation branch in re-filling collapsed road sections, implementing protection works for surface bridges and restoration works on the coastal line.

They pointed out the importance of implementing emergency work and other treatments in order to preserve the road network and ensure the continuity of traffic.

They praised the efforts made by the Corporation in removing the damage caused by floods on the main asphalt roads in various governorates.
