NEW YORK August 26. 2024 (Saba) - UN representative on Monday said there are families in Gaza Strip who spend their day without eating, describing the situation as catastrophic as a result of the aggression.
According to the website (Russia Today), the representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Ajit Songhai, said at a press conference that "the situation in Gaza is nothing but a disaster."
Songhai said he accompanied displaced people who were asked by the Zionist authorities to leave their homes in Rafah city, and now have no shelter and are living in a state of despair.
He pointed out that Gazans who have suffered for a long time find themselves stuck amid the escalation of Zionist aggression on the Strip.
Songhai confirmed that health facilities, schools, UN education facilities and residential areas in Khan Yunis area are under constant attack.
"I have heard stories of families who eat only one meal a day if they are lucky. There are families in Gaza who spend their day without eating," he said.
Songhai pointed out that the authorities of the Zionist enemy issued 13 evacuation orders in August, pointing out that even the employees of aid organizations in Gaza were also forced to flee.
