The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources launched a campaign to combat cotton pests and several agricultural plants and crops in the Tihama area of Hodeida.
At the inauguration in the Kilo 16 area of Al-Durayhimi district, in coordination with the local authority in the governorate, the Tihama Development Authority, and the branch of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, cotton value chain officer Mohamed Hassan explained that the campaign aims in 30 days in partnership with agricultural associations to support farmers to control harmful pests that threaten their agricultural crops.
Field teams will work to carry out spraying work with vehicles equipped with control materials dedicated to implementing the campaign in various northern, southern, and eastern districts in Hodeidah province, he said, noting that the campaign can be strengthened with additional cars and teams to ensure that all farmers benefit.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Union branch, Hadi Al-Haij, and an official in the agricultural sector in the governorate, Ahmed Al-Hadi, pointed to the importance of the campaign to protect crops in Tihama, calling on agricultural associations and farmers to cooperate with field teams to make the campaign a success and contribute to improving the quality of production for their crops.
