Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting held on Sunday in the capital Sana'a discussed the progress of automation implementation and the challenges related to the billing system (ODO) at the General Electricity Corporation.
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Mishaal al-Rifi, Director of the General Electricity Corporation, and attended by his deputies and technical office members, focused on issues raised by various regions concerning the ODO system.
These issues included billing and collection processes, electronic payment methods, and the installation of barcodes on meters, transformers, and cells. Proposed solutions were discussed to address field challenges and improve the efficiency of these operations.
The meeting also examined the needs for improving the performance of the technical teams responsible for supporting the automation expansion, aligning with the goals of the Government of Change and Construction. A time-bound implementation plan for completing the ODO system was approved.
Additionally, the technical team presented updates on the warehouse and procurement system. Engineers provided a detailed explanation of the system components, and the meeting emphasized the importance of transitioning to an automated warehouse system.
This would involve integrating the documentary cycle, defining responsibilities, and updating the inventory database with serial numbers. The implementation of "barcodes" and training programs for staff were also highlighted as essential steps for moving from a manual to an automated system.
Dr. al-Rifi commended the efforts of the technical and engineering teams and stressed the need to intensify efforts to resolve billing system issues and further advance the automation process to meet the corporation's goals.
