Damascus - Saba:
Informed Syrian sources confirmed on Tuesday that shelling targeted the vicinity of the American base in al-Shaddadi on Tuesday evening, south of al-Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
Al-Mayadeen website quoted the sources as saying "The targeting of the American base in al-Shaddadi coincided with military training for the forces in al-Jabsa workers' housing in the city south of al-Hasakah."
The sources also reported that "a Syrian army checkpoint prevented the passage of an American convoy consisting of four vehicles towards the village of Tal al-Dhahab in the Qamishli countryside."
In turn, the Russian "Sputnik" agency reported Tuesday that a huge explosion rocked the American army base in "al-Omar" oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, resulting from a missile barrage attack that targeted the base.
According to the agency, "the US army's ground-based anti-aircraft missiles tried to intercept the attacking missiles, but the smoke columns that rose from the base, which could be seen from far away, were visible."
