The UN Security Council will discuss, today, Wednesday, during an open session, "the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue."
Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo will brief the members of the Council on this matter. According to the Palestinian News Agency.
The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, had last briefed the Security Council on Palestine on November 25, but consultations are still underway to appoint his successor.
DiCarlo is expected to brief the Secretary-General at today's meeting on the latest quarterly report on the implementation of Resolution 2334 issued on December 23, 2016, which calls on Israel to cease all colonial activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Quds.
