Sa'ada - Saba:

A training course in the field of beekeeping began on Wednesday in Sa'ada province to build the capacities of adolescents and the most vulnerable families, organized by the Social Affairs and Labor Office in the governorate with funding from UNICEF.

The week-long course aims to provide 30 beekeepers with skills in the field of beekeeping and empower them economically within the case management project.

At the opening, province governor Mohammed Awad pointed out the importance of qualifying adolescents and the most vulnerable families in honey production and beekeeping, stressing that the exchange of experiences develops capabilities and contributes to the outcome and benefit of society.

Awad explained that spending in the way of God blesses the produced crop, pointing out the importance of educating farmers to keep bees away from pesticide spraying areas and to work on choosing the sources of bee grazing.

Secretary General of the Local Council of the province Mohammed al-Emad, stressed the need to preserve the quality of Yemeni honey in general and Saada in particular.

He expressed hope that the participants would benefit from the contents of the course, which would contribute to developing their knowledge of beekeeping and honey production.

In turn, the Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office pointed out the keenness to hold such courses in the field of beekeeping and honey production in order to achieve self-sufficiency.
