Gaza – Saba:
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemned on Thursday the crime committed by the Zionist enemy in killing five journalists in front of Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian Information Center, the syndicate described in a statement the Zionist crime as a "heinous massacre", and said that it comes within a series of systematic targeting against Palestinian journalists, to obscure the truth and restrict freedom of expression.
It pointed out that more than 190 journalists and media workers have been martyred since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, describing this as a war crime according to international conventions.
The syndicate stressed that this targeting constitutes a flagrant violation of human rights and freedom of the press, calling on the international community and human rights organizations to provide urgent protection for Palestinian journalists and take measures to stop these crimes.
For its part, the Center to Protect Palestinian Journalists stressed that the attack constitutes a clear war crime, and reflects the Zionist enemy's deliberate silencing of the press in Gaza.
The Centre warned that international silence encourages enemy forces to continue their violations, thereby weakening confidence in the international system for the protection of human rights.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Media Forum stressed that the enemy army's targeting of a car broadcasting Al-Quds TV today, despite press references to it, represents a blatant challenge to the international system and press institutions concerned with the protection of journalists and press freedom.
The Forum denounced the silence and international inability to protect Palestinian journalists and enable them to perform their professional duty by international laws and humanitarian conventions.
