Beirut – Saba:
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has expressed concern over the continued destruction carried out by the Zionist enemy army in residential areas, agricultural lands, and road networks in southern Lebanon.
UNIFIL, in a statement, again urged Thursday "the IDF to withdraw on time, deploy the Lebanese Armed Forces in southern Lebanon and fully implement resolution 1701 as a comprehensive path towards peace," according to AFP.
The UN force expressed concern about the "ongoing damage" caused by the Zionist enemy forces in the south of the country despite the ceasefire in the war with Hezbollah.
The UN force said the order "constitutes a violation of Resolution 1701," which established a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah after a devastating war in the summer of 2006.
The resolution also provides for the complete withdrawal of the Zionist enemy forces from Lebanon, the strengthening of the deployment of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and the limitation of the military presence in the border area to the Lebanese army and the international force.
