Taiz - Saba:
The Health and Environment Office in Taiz province started on Sunday the construction of a medical waste area at Taiz General Hospital in Taizayh district, at a total cost of $80,000, funded by the Dutch organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakel, director of the Health and Environment Office in the province, said that the project came within the framework of cooperation between various parties, primarily the Ministry of Health and Environment and the local authority in the province.
Mohammed Al-Zaimi, Director of the Buildings Section in the Office's Technical and Engineering Affairs Department, explained that the components of the project include 3,37,000 cubic meters of excavation capacity and the construction of 8 rooms within the excavation area, including 3 pits for ash waste and 3 excavations for sharps and glass waste.
He said that the project consists of two pits for organic waste, and the construction of two rooms "employees, a bathroom, and an incineration machine."
