The Russian Defense Ministry announced today, Monday, that a Russian army helicopter of the "Ka-52M" type destroyed a Ukrainian military support point and eliminated militants of the Ukrainian forces in the border area of the Russian Kursk region.
The ministry said in a statement: "The crew of the "Ka-52M" helicopter targeted, as part of a joint tactical group, with missiles, individuals and a support point of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."
The statement added: "During the implementation of the combat mission to support units of the Russian Northern Group forces, the pilots launched missiles... and destroyed a support point and eliminated members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."
The ministry's statement indicated that after implementing the mission, the crew conducted anti-missile maneuvers at very low altitudes, and launched thermal traps that prevented enemy missiles from responding, and the forward air controller confirmed the destruction of all Ukrainian military targets.
Yesterday, the ministry announced the neutralization of about 400 Ukrainian soldiers in the battles taking place on the Kursk axis, bringing the total losses of Ukrainian forces since their incursion into the Russian Kursk region to more than 45,220 dead.
