Russian economic data said on Monday that Russian farmers in 2024 broke the record for the rice crop that preceded it.
According to Russia Today, a source in the Russian Ministry of Agriculture told reporters that the crop increased by 17% to more than 1.2 million tons.

According to preliminary data, the harvest reached more than 1.2 million tons, which is 17% more than last year.
It was noted that this year's record rice crop allowed wholesale prices in the country to remain at the 2022 level.
Igor Lubach, chairman of the board of directors of Russia's National Rice Union, said there were plans to increase the area of rice paddies to 275,000 hectares over the next five years.
The ministry confirmed that by 2030 about two million tonnes of rice are planned to be harvested annually.
