Sana'a - Saba:
The semi-finals of the eighth companies' seven-a-side football championship will start on Thursday at the recreational club stadium, organized by the Sports Federation of Companies under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the support of Yemen Mobile Company.
The tournament, which kicked off on November 16, is attended by 20 teams representing institutions, companies and banks, divided into four groups.
The first two semi-final matches will bring together two teams that have previously won the tournament title, CAC Bank and Etisalat-1, in a match that cannot be divided into two, as the winner will be the first party to the final match of the tournament.
CAC Bank aspires to qualify for the final match and win the tournament cup in its eighth edition and for the third time in its history after winning the title in the third and fourth editions, while Etisalat-1 seeks to equal CAC Bank's record in winning the title after it had won it in its fifth edition.
CAC Bank qualified for the semi-finals after winning the quarter-finals against the Bank of Yemen and Kuwait 4-0, while Etisalat-1 qualified after winning the same round against the Ministry of Youth and Sports team by four clean goals.
As for the second match in the other semi-final, it will bring together two teams that have never won the tournament title, the Bank of Bahrain team, runner-up in the previous edition of the tournament, and the Yemen International Bank team.
The Bank of Bahrain is looking to make up for the loss in the final of the previous edition of the tournament when it lost to the Yemen Mobile team, while the Yemen International Bank team is seeking to win the championship title for the first time in its history, which makes the match special, particularly since it brings together two of the country's oldest banks.
The Bank of Bahrain team qualified for the semi-finals after its valuable victory in the quarter-finals over the Ministry of Oil and Minerals team by three goals to one, while the Yemen International Bank team qualified after its wide victory in the same round over Solidarity Bank by four clean goals.
