Gaza - Saba:
The Israeli army continues to close the Gaza crossings for the 240th consecutive day, preventing the wounded and sick from traveling abroad for treatment or bringing in any humanitarian aid to the Strip, which has resulted in the death of hundreds and the spread of diseases, and Gaza is on the brink of the abyss.
The occupier has been closing the crossings since it invaded the city of Rafah in the south of the Strip and took control of the Rafah and Kerem Shalom land crossings, despite warnings from humanitarian and relief groups and international calls to reopen the crossings to avoid famine due to the interruption of aid, and to save the lives of thousands of patients and wounded.
The director of the Palestinian NGO Network, Amjad Al-Shawa, said over 25,000 patients and wounded need immediate medical evacuation from the Gaza Strip.
Hospitals in the Gaza Strip are subjected to a continuous siege by the occupation forces, Al-Shawa added in a press statement.
The Ministry of Health said that more than 25,000 wounded and sick people in Gaza currently need to travel abroad for treatment, and that none of them have been able to leave the Strip since the Israeli forces occupied the crossings, which exposes the lives of thousands of them to complications and death.
According to the Executive Director of the World Food Program, two million people are facing severe hunger across the Gaza Strip, and that the Strip received only a third of the trucks the program needed last month.
Northern Gaza is the most affected, and that only two trucks reached thousands of hungry people, Cindy McCain said on the "X" website.
She stressed the need to ensure safe and unhindered humanitarian access on the required scale, to save lives and avoid famine.
The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the martyrdom of 45,541 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 108,338 others, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and rescue teams cannot reach them.
