Doha - Saba:
The Deputy Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, Dr. Muhammad al-Hindi, confirmed on Friday that "the Zionist entity's professional delegation in Doha today came to complete the previous round of negotiations that took place during the last two weeks on reaching a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange deal in Gaza Strip."
In a press statement quoted by the "Palestine Today" news agency, he explained that the chances of reaching a deal are currently higher than the previous stages.
He added: "The occupation requested the addition of 11 names of "Israeli" prisoners from reserve soldiers who do not meet the conditions of the first phase (neither sick nor old), and the resistance agreed to add them, but at a price different from the price of the first category." He pointed out that the return of displaced people, gradual withdrawal and relief begins in the first phase of the exchange.
He continued: "The technical issues of the deal are being discussed today, and the majority of the Zionist public opinion is in favor of the deal, as well as with the approach of Trump's inauguration." He stressed that the occupation entity has failed to retrieve its prisoners by force.
Regarding the events in Jenin, al-Hindi leader said: "The PA's behavior in the West Bank, whether by attacking the Jenin camp, prosecuting social media activists, or closing Al Jazeera offices, reflects the tension of the PA and its security services."
He added: "Everyone knows that neither Israel nor Donald Trump's administration can empower the PA in the West Bank, no matter how many messages it gives."
He continued: "Israel is implementing the plan of decisiveness and annexation on the ground, and Trump, who recognized Al-Quds as the capital of "Israel" and made the Abraham Accords, will continue this same path in his second administration."
