Gaza - Saba:
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said at least 74 children were killed in the first seven days of 2025, due to the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip, including attacks on a unilaterally designated safe zone.
UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said in a post on the X platform on Thursday: "Eight infants and newborns have died since December 26 due to hypothermia, while more than a million Gazan children live in temporary tents that cannot withstand low temperatures."
"We have long warned that inadequate shelter, lack of access to nutrition and health care, dire health conditions, and now winter weather, all put the lives of all children in Gaza at risk. Newborns and children with health conditions are particularly at risk," she added.
