Sana'a - Saba:
The Traffic Police in the capital Sana'a have issued a new circular mandating that motorcycle drivers strictly follow traffic safety rules due to the rising number of accidents, particularly on 60th Street.
The circular aims to improve road safety and reduce violations and accidents that lead to significant loss of life, property, and economic damage.
The Traffic Police emphasized that motorcycles are now prohibited from driving on the expressway of 60th Street and must remain on the service lane along its entire length. Drivers are also urged to comply with all traffic laws, including avoiding reckless behaviors like driving against traffic, riding on sidewalks, and running red lights. Violators will face legal consequences, including the impounding of their motorcycles.
Colonel Najib al-Asadi, Director of Traffic in the Capital Sana'a, confirmed that these measures will be enforced starting next week, with a phased approach. Initially, the focus will be on 60th Street, with plans to expand the regulations to other areas experiencing high rates of accidents.
Al-Asadi urged the public to cooperate with the authorities to help improve road safety.
