The draw for the play-off round qualifiers for the round of 16 in the European Football League was held today, Friday, in the Swiss city of Nyon, which resulted in strong confrontations, most notably the meeting between Porto, the two-time champion of the competition, and Roma, the Italian team that reached the final twice.
The two teams had waited until the eighth and final round of the group stage competitions in the tournament, in order to reserve their tickets to the play-off and maintain their hopes of catching up with the first eight teams that have secured direct qualification to the round of 16.
Roma came in fifteenth place in the standings, while Porto came in eighteenth place.
