The US Federal Aviation Administration on Saturday said a small civilian plane crash in Philadelphia resulted in the death of six people on board the plane.
The administration said in a post on the "X" platform: "A 55 Lear Jet plane crashed at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time on Friday, January 31, after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport," noting that the plane was carrying six people.
"The plane was en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the matter, and the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation and provide all updates," the administration added.
Commenting on the incident, US President Donald Trump said: "We have lost more innocent lives after the sad plane crash in Philadelphia."
Earlier this morning, American media reported that a small plane crashed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on residential buildings, causing a fire.
The American CBS network said that "emergency and ambulance crews moved to the scene of the accident, where the plane crashed, followed by an explosion as a result of its collision with several residential buildings in the Roosevelt Street and Cottman Street area."
The network stated that "the causes of the plane crash are still unclear, and no information is available yet about the condition of the passengers."
American media had reported earlier today, Saturday, that a small plane crashed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on residential buildings, causing a fire.
The American CBS network said: "A small plane with two people on board crashed in Philadelphia, and fell on residential buildings."
It added that "emergency and ambulance crews moved to the scene of the accident, where the plane crashed, followed by an explosion as a result of its collision with several residential buildings in the Roosevelt Street and Cottman Street area."
