Baghdad - Saba:
Iraqi Minister of Water Resources Aoun Diab revealed on Thursday, the biggest obstacle facing his country at the present time.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted Aoun Diab as saying that securing water for the country represents a major challenge, noting that "water is decreasing and not increasing due to its investment in neighboring countries and climate change."
He explained that the current water storage is good, but at the same time he stressed the need to enhance it with rain to secure the needs of next summer.
Aoun Diab stated that "there is fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture in the optimal use of water," noting that "the Ministry of Agriculture has an important role in changing the method of irrigation using modern sprinkler systems."
