The General Authority for Endowments and the General Authority for Zakat in Hodeida province has held a commemorative event on marking the 18th anniversary of the passing of Sheikh Majd al-Din bin Mohammed al-Muayyadi.
The event focused on the importance of scholars in society, their role in national reform, and the legacy of Sheikh al-Muayyadi, including his impact on training a generation of scholars dedicated to spreading truth and promoting good.
Mohammed Halisi, the province's undersecretary for services affairs, emphasized that commemorating scholars reaffirms their crucial role in serving Islam, disseminating religious knowledge, and strengthening faith within society. He described Sheikh al-Muayyadi as a model scholar who dedicated his life to serving religion and reviving the sciences of Ahl al-Bayt.
Deputy Halisi discussed Sheikh al-Muayyadi's scientific stature and biography, highlighting his contributions to spreading knowledge and protecting society from foreign ideologies.
Abdullah Shaim, Director of the Awqaf Authority Office, stressed the collective responsibility to preserve the heritage of esteemed scholars, which enhances religious awareness and adherence to Islamic values. He described Sheikh al-Muayyadi as a comprehensive scholar, jurist, hadith scholar, interpreter, educator, and reformer, emphasizing the importance of utilizing his scientific legacy.
Sheikh Ali Somal, head of the scholars unit, and Sheikh Ali Odhabi, Vice Chairman of Dar al-Ulum al-Shari'ah University, affirmed Sheikh al-Muayyadi's position as a prominent defender of faith identity who stood against Westernization and intellectual distortion. They emphasized the need to preserve his legacy and promote religious sciences derived from the Quran and Sunnah.
Bassam al-Lai, speaking on behalf of the Zakat Authority office, stressed the importance of following the path of righteous scholars, spreading religious awareness, and strengthening faith values, describing scholars as beacons of guidance for preserving religion and fostering social solidarity.
