The Endowments and Zakat Authorities have held a commemoration event in the capital Sana'a, marking the 18th anniversary of the passing of Sheikh Majd al-Din bin Muhammad al-Muayyadi.
The event, attended by high-ranking officials including Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Abdulsalam Hashoul and Secretary of the Supreme Political Council Dr. Yasser al-Hawri, honored the legacy of the esteemed scholar.
Sheikh Abdulmajeed al-Houthi, Chairman of the General Authority for Endowments, emphasized the importance of remembering Sheikh Majd al-Din al-Muayyadi as a beacon of knowledge and guidance. He highlighted the scholar's dedication to serving religion and the nation, noting his piety, knowledge, and commitment to his work.
Al-Houthi detailed Sheikh al-Muayyadi's lifelong pursuit of knowledge, his extensive travels to spread learning, and his dedication to scientific honesty. He praised the scholar's wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment to truth, even in the face of opposition.
He connected the scholar's methodology to the emergence of leaders like Sayyed Hussein and Sayyed Abdulmalik, attributing current "honorable positions" to the legacy of Sheikh Majd al-Din and Sheikh Badr al-Din.
Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, head of the Zakat Authority, stressed that commemorating the scholar is an expression of loyalty to his dedication to reviving the authentic Muhammadan approach. He emphasized the need to emulate Sheikh al-Muayyadi's virtues and principles in spreading goodness, speaking truth, and confronting injustice.
Abu Nashtan also linked the nation's steadfast stance on issues like the Palestinian cause to the values instilled by scholars like Sheikh al-Muayyadi.
Mohammed Majd al-Din al-Muayyadi, speaking on behalf of the family, highlighted the scholar's contributions to a scientific renaissance and his role as an advisor and defender of Islamic values.
He stressed the importance of remembering the scholars of guidance and their sacrifices, and appreciated the revolutionary leadership and the Endowments and Zakat authorities for organizing the commemoration.
