Food processing training course concluded in Sana'a A training course in food processing organized by the General Administration of Marketing and Agricultural Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Education concluded in Sana'a.
The course lasted 20 days and targeted 182 school activities specialists from Sana'a Municipality and Sana'a Governorate, with the aim of training them on the manufacture of pickles, juices, pastries, and other food industries from local products.
Enhancing local production The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, stressed the importance of exploiting local crops in food industries to reduce imports and achieve self-sufficiency, pointing to the role of the economic empowerment program in supporting productive families and teachers of school activities.
Supporting productive families and developing production Eng. Mounir Al-Mahbashi, Director of Marketing and Agricultural Trade, explained the importance of training families on packaging and enhancing their awareness of benefiting from the agricultural surplus in the food industry. Eng. Abdul Raouf Al-Sabri also stressed the generalization of food processing experiences in schools.
The course included theoretical lectures and practical applications on the requirements of healthy manufacturing, drying tomatoes and garlic, making sauces and jams, and concentrated juices, which contributes to spreading the culture of food processing, achieving food security and improving sources of income for productive families.
