Hodeidah - Saba:
The Office of Economy, Industry and Investment in Hodeidah Governorate, in cooperation with the local authority, launched a monitoring campaign on markets in preparation for the Ramadan month, with the aim of controlling prices and ensuring the availability of basic commodities.
The director of the office, Saleh Mohammed, stressed the tightening of control due to the rise in commercial activity in this period, pointing to the development of organized plans to follow up on markets, bakeries, and consumer complexes, to prevent monopoly and commercial fraud and control prices.
He stressed that the campaign will continue until the end of Ramadan, in implementation of the ministry's directives for consumer protection, while taking legal action against violators. On the first day, violations were issued to 15 shops for raising prices, not advertising, and selling expired products.
He called on traders to cooperate with field committees to make the campaign, which is led by the office with the participation of local officials, a success.
