Doha - Saba:

Tunisian player Ons Jabeur on Monday qualified for the second round of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open tennis tournament after defeating American McCartney Kessler in two sets to none on Monday.

In the first round of the tournament held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, the Tunisian player, ranked 33rd in the world, managed to defeat her American competitor 6-2 and 6-0.

The former world number two Tunisian player has won five titles on the Women's Tennis Association in her professional career so far. She is 30 years old and was runner-up at Wimbledon twice in 2022 and 2023, as well as runner-up at the 2022 US Open.
