The Office of Economy, Industry and Investment in Taiz province carried out on Tuesday a field visit to monitor markets in the center of the province to coincide with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.
During the visit, the head of the committee assigned by the Ministry of Economy, Director General of Market Stability in the Ministry, Khaled Al-Khawlani, explained that the aim of the visit is to check on the supply situation of foodstuffs and the stability of their prices, in addition to following up the work of branches and offices in field control, evaluating their work , closely examining the issues , difficulties they face and raising them.
For his part, Afif Al-Dhubhani, Director General of the Economy Office in the province, stressed the importance of intensifying price control in conjunction with the approaching Ramadan and the active commercial movement during this period for the purchase of foodstuffs and consumer goods.
Al-Dhubhani said that violations were written during the field visit to six shops, which were distributed between raising prices, lack of advertising, lack of weight and commercial fraud. He emphasized that the necessary legal measures were taken against the violators.
In another context, the ministerial committee, headed by Khalid Al-Khawlani and including the directors of Consumer Protection Abdullah Sharafuddin and Human Resources Khalid Obaid, discussed with employees of the economy office in the province the difficulties and obstacles facing the office in order to raise them and work on solving them.
Al-Khawlani urged everyone to fulfill their role in upgrading field and administrative work in the public interest.
