Taiz - Saba:
The office of the General Authority for Endowments in Taiz Governorate condemned the burning of the historic mosque of Al-Arif Billah Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Hadrami in the village of Al-Armah in Jabal Habashi District by members of the Islah Party.
The office indicated in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) a copy of it, that these elements committed their crime after citizens celebrated the night of the middle of Shaaban in the mosque, which is considered a symbol of cultural and religious heritage.
It stressed that the burning of the historic mosque is not just the destruction of a building, but a criminal act that does not only represent an attack on places of worship, but aims to sow discord and spread fear and hatred among members of society.
The statement called on human rights and religious organizations and citizens to confront this heinous crime, work to rebuild what was destroyed, and hold accountable the perpetrators and supporters of these terrorist groups whose only goal is to destroy civilization and spread chaos.
