Taiz - Saba:
The Economy, Industry, and Investment Office in Taiz province on Saturday conducted a field visit to monitor food prices across various sectors, including restaurants, spice shops, and bakeries, in al-Taiziyah district.
The visit comes ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, with the goal of ensuring fair pricing and maintaining food quality.
Director of the Economy Office Afif al-Dhabhani highlighted the importance of this monitoring campaign, which seeks to standardize prices, improve the quality of bread, and ensure food items such as dates are properly packaged.
The initiative also focuses on combating commercial fraud, including issues related to weight discrepancies, tampered expiration dates, and other violations.
Several price control committees have been established across the province's districts, and ongoing visits to markets, shops, and bakeries will continue to ensure compliance.
Al-Dhabhani emphasized that violators would face legal consequences and be referred to the Public Prosecution.
Director of the Bakeries Department Mohammed al-Absi added that the campaign also aims to enforce sales regulations for bakeries, warning owners against exploiting citizens in the lead-up to Ramadan.
