Hajjah - Saba:
The Health and Environment Office in Hajjah Provincr, in cooperation with the National Center for Health and Population Education and Information, organized on Saturday a course on community response and participation in strengthening disease prevention capacities.
The course, which was held with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) with the participation of 25 opinion leaders in the province, aimed to activate community participation in promoting awareness and preventive interventions against diseases, the most important of which are acute watery diarrhea, measles, malaria, infections and others.
At the opening of the course, which was attended by province deputies Mohammed Al-Qadi and Adel Shali, the director of the health office, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahlani, urged the participants to benefit from the course and reflect its outcomes in practice by raising awareness of the role of the community in promoting disease prevention.
Dr. Khalid Jamal, coordinator of the malaria control program, and Mohammed Al-Adbaie, director of health education and information, stressed the importance of risk communication, community participation, addressing wrong behaviors, sectoral and community coordination.
The Director of Planning at the National Center for Health Education and Information, Dr. Fayez Al-Faqih, stressed the importance of implementing interventions from the concerned authorities to enhance prevention capabilities.
