Sana'a - Saba:
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer and Minister of Health and Environment Dr Ali Shaiban met today with the heads of mission of the French MSF, Ilaria Raslow, the Swiss Siddiq Olorunshola, the Spanish Issa Musa and the Dutch Tila Wali Khair Mohammed.
During the meeting, which was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation, Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, Ministers Amer and Shaiban listened to brief reports presented by the heads of missions on the projects and activities implemented by each organisation during the year 2025.
They explained that MSF organisations have adopted a green economy and renewable energy approach in all their projects and activities in all countries where they are present, including Yemen.
The Foreign Minister stressed that MSF is an international humanitarian organisation that enjoys great respect and appreciation at the official and popular levels, as it works away from any political agendas of donors, especially the United States of America.
He explained that the source of funding for MSF organisations is individual donations, so their decision is independent and they focus on providing humanitarian services in the health field without any restrictions and conditions.
The Minister of Health and Environment praised the level of performance of MSF organisations in providing health assistance, especially in remote areas that are most in need.
For their part, the heads of MSF missions confirmed that they are committed to staying in the Republic of Yemen to implement the plan of projects and activities for the year 2025, in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health and local authorities in the governorates, with readiness to respond immediately in case there is an emergency, as happened last year when facing the flood disaster in Hudaydah, Mahwit, Dhamar and other governorates.
