Real Madrid achieved a deserved victory over its guest Girona, with two clean goals, in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, for the 25th round of the Spanish Football League.
The Royal Club owes its credit to its veteran Croatian player Luka Modric, who put it in the lead by the 41st minute of the first half, with a rocket shot that hit the Catalan club's net.
Vinicius Junior almost strengthened the score in the 58th minute, but his shot hit the crossbar.
But he returned and fired the mercy bullet at Girona in the 84th minute of the match, taking advantage of a pass from Kylian Mbappe.
With this result, Real Madrid raised its points to 54 at the top of the Spanish League standings, while Girona's points froze at 31 in 12th place.
