Kuwait - Saba:
The Asian Handball Federation announced today, Monday, that Kuwait has won the bid to host the 2026 Asian Handball Cup Finals, which will kick off on January 26.
Kuwait was chosen after a unanimous vote by the Asian Federation's Executive Office. The top four teams in the tournament will qualify for the 2027 World Handball Cup in Germany.
It is worth noting that the Kuwaiti national team participated in the last World Cup after obtaining fourth place in the 2024 Asian Championship hosted by Bahrain, and was crowned by Qatar at the expense of Japan.
This is the fourth time that Kuwait has hosted the tournament, after 1977, 1995, and 2020, and it has previously won the title four times in 1995, 2002, 2004, and 2006.
