London - Saba:

Liverpool on Wednesday strengthened its lead in the English Premier League table, after achieving a deserved victory over its guest Newcastle United with two clean goals, in the match that took place yesterday evening in the 27th stage of the competition, which witnessed Arsenal's draw with Nottingham Forest.

With their victory, Liverpool continued their march towards winning the title and widened the gap to 13 points over second-placed Arsenal, thanks to goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, with one goal in each half in the 11th and 63rd minutes, respectively.

Liverpool raised their score to 67 points at the top of the standings, while Newcastle dropped to sixth place, three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

On the other hand, at the City Ground, Nottingham and Arsenal players failed to score throughout the two halves of the match, after their players competed in wasting all the opportunities that came their way throughout the 90 minutes, so each team got one point, and Arsenal remained in second place with 54 points, 6 points ahead of Nottingham, which remained in third place.

Manchester City regained their balance again after their difficult 1-0 victory over their host Tottenham Hotspur, with the Norwegian Erling Haaland scoring the winning goal in the 12th minute. Manchester City's score rose to 47 points, advancing to fourth place in the competition, while Tottenham Hotspur's score stopped at 33 points in thirteenth place.

In another match, Manchester United regained their winning streak, which had been absent from them in the past three stages of the competition, after their exciting 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town. Manchester United's score rose to 33 points in fourteenth place, while Ipswich's score stopped at 17 points in eighteenth place.
