During the first half of the year 1446 AH, Hajjah Electricity continued its efforts to improve the services provided to citizens and expand the subscriber base across the remaining districts.

The region's electricity department was committed to working in accordance with the directives of the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water, as well as the plans and programs of the General Electricity Corporation and the local authority in the province. The priority was to implement projects and activities that would develop and sustain this vital sector.

"It focused on improvement and maintenance work for pressure networks, power lines, and transformer stations. This included the establishment of medium-pressure networks to expand the distribution system and accommodate new subscribers. Additionally, efforts were made to rehabilitate and maintain transformers, implement precautionary measures against lightning strikes, and connect meters to extend the service area and restore service to previous subscribers.

The work also involved installing drums to collect meters of various sizes, aimed at improving service, reducing losses, and replacing step-down transformers. Furthermore, displacement and improvement efforts were carried out on the distribution system in several areas."

A report issued by the Electricity of Hajjah Region, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), stated that the number of projects and activities implemented during the first half amounted to 14 projects and activities worth 106 million and 677 thousand YER, while it aims to implement projects in the second half worth more than 860 million riyals.

The report explained that a project was implemented to install and extend ABC cables and meter drums to introduce new subscribers to the directorates, remove and improve the 11 kV and 0.4 kV networks, replace insulators and angles, and disassemble, remove and reinstall 3ph 1ph meters in Sharis market.

It stated that 25 kva step-down transformers were replaced in the governorate center and 200 kva and a 0.4/11 kva step-down transformer with a capacity of 50 kva in Al-Mahbasha and install a 0.4/11 kva step-down transformer with a capacity of 15 kva to introduce new subscribers in Kahlan Afar and expand the system and rehabilitate.

The report pointed out the establishment of medium-pressure networks to expand the distribution system and introduce new subscribers to al-Khashm and al-Ma'arras triangle by installing an Abc network of different sizes and meter collection drums with different capacities, in addition to installing 12-meter and 8-meter meter collection drums to improve and reduce losses in the directorates.

The report pointed out that emergency maintenance was carried out on the 33 kV transmission lines, Qanawis Abs, replacing broken insulators, comprehensive emergency maintenance of the 11 kV lines, as well as replacing broken poles with all accessories and installing tension units in the governorate center and Abs.

According to the report, maintenance activities and projects included installing breakers in the 11/33 kV transformer station for the main feeder and the F2 feeder in the governorate center and improving the high-pressure network in Ain Ali to raise the descending lines and remove the danger, in addition to maintaining transformers in the directorates of Al-Sharfain Square.

He stated that the project of installing and connecting meters and service to new subscribers and improving and restoring service to previous subscribers for a number of 691 subscribers in the region and branches was implemented, as well as installing an integrated grounding unit to protect the region's building and devices from lightning.

While Director of Electricity in the region Abdulrahman Thabet confirmed the region's keenness, in coordination and cooperation with the institution, to implement 11 projects and activities during the second half of this year, worth 862 million and 593 thousand riyals, to advance the electricity sector in the governorate.

Thabet explained that these projects include providing a generator with a capacity of 1 megawatt for al-Mahabesha Power Plant to ensure the continuity of service in the directorates of al-Sharfain Square, providing spare parts and maintenance of the generator of al-Meftah Power Plant district, establishing a high-pressure connection line with a length of 1 kilometer and 500 meters to connect the solar power plant and connect it to the Abs conversion station, and rehabilitating and improving the distribution system in the district.

Among the projects that will be implemented are establishing a high and medium pressure network and supplying the Bani Siraj, Habil Al-Ghaz and Deir Al-Hassi areas with electricity and introducing new subscribers, in addition to completing the expansion of the distribution system in al-Ma'arras market.

The projects also include, according to the Director of Electricity, completing the rehabilitation works of the distribution system in Kuhlan Afar district, the second and third phases, completing the expansion works, improving the system, installing meter collection drums, and introducing new subscribers, in addition to installing a 33 kV measurement unit at the beginning of the Hajjah line and installing an ARC breaker at the beginning of the Zahra line, in addition to expanding the service circle in Mabin and introducing new subscribers.

The Director of Electricity appreciated the interest of the institution's leadership in the electricity sector in the province and its keenness to overcome difficulties and provide the necessary support to develop the service provided to citizens and the role of the province's leadership in overcoming the difficulties faced.
