Ramallah - Saba:
Yesterday, Thursday, the Zionist enemy soldiers stormed the village of Rantis, northwest of Ramallah, and notified five Palestinian families to evacuate their homes and farms in favor of settlement expansion.
Majed Khalaf, head of the Rantis village council, said that the families are subjected to continuous threats of displacement despite remaining in the area for years.
On the other hand, the newspaper "Haaretz" reported that the soldiers tried to forcibly displace the families, and gave them several deadlines to leave, as some families left. The displacement attempts were linked to the "Havat Avihai" settlement outpost, which was established two years ago in the area.
Researcher Dror Atkes pointed out that the families have been living there since 2007, and there are no demolition notices for the Palestinian buildings. Citizen Abdullah Darwish also revealed that he was assaulted by the soldiers, who threatened to burn him if he did not leave.
In 2024, 7 Palestinian communities were forcibly displaced, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission report.
