The North Korean Central News Agency reported today, Friday, that the North Korean army conducted a successful launch
of strategic cruise missiles in the waters off its west coast, which took place the day before yesterday, Wednesday.
The agency said that a missile unit of the Korean People's Army conducted launch drills in the western regions on the morning of February 26 under the supervision of leader Kim Jong-un.
These drills aim to determine the army's ability to launch a counterattack anywhere, as well as the readiness of its various nuclear operational means and to demonstrate the reliability of the country's nuclear deterrence.
The agency confirmed that the missiles hit their targets accurately after taking an elliptical path 1,587 kilometers long for a period ranging between 7,961 and 7,973 seconds.
