Moscow - Saba:
Nutrition experts indicate that it is necessary to eat foods and products rich in various types of vitamins that are beneficial to the retina.

According to what was reported by the website of the "Russia Today" channel from the Russian doctor Irina Pisariova, a nutrition expert, Vitamin A is one of the most important nutrients for the health of the retina, as its deficiency leads to what is called "night blindness" that is observed with the onset of darkness.

She says: "The body must be supplied with foods that contain Vitamin A on an ongoing basis. For example, the yolk of two eggs contains a daily dose of beta-carotene, which can also be obtained from carrots and sweet potatoes."

In addition, it is necessary to eat foods containing Vitamin C, which is also necessary for the retina, such as sweet peppers, gooseberries, citrus fruits, and others.

As for Vitamin E, it is one of the powerful antioxidants that reduce the risk of premature aging of tissues. It is found in hazelnuts and Brazil nuts. In general, the expert recommends eating about 50 grams of nuts per day.

The Russian expert notes that lutein has a positive effect on the walls of blood vessels. Spinach is rich in this substance, and it is easier to digest when heat treated, that is, the product can be lightly fried or scalded with boiling water.

According to her, omega-3 fatty acids are useful for preventing dry eye syndrome. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in sea fish - herring, mackerel, salmon. They are also found in flaxseed oil, seeds and nuts, which she recommends eating 2-3 times a week.

In general, the condition of vision is affected by genetic characteristics, bad habits, frequent and prolonged time in front of the computer and phone, especially at night. Therefore, it is recommended to use nutrition as a preventive measure against eye diseases.
