Gaza - Saba:
The Zionist Shin Bet revealed on Tuesday evening, in its internal investigations, a series of strategic failures that led to the inability to predict the resistance's attack on October 7.
The agency admitted that it had failed for years to uncover Hamas' offensive plan, despite the availability of serious indicators.
Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar said that the investigations concluded that the agency did not underestimate Hamas, but ultimately failed to assess its true intentions, noting that the prevailing belief was that the movement focused on igniting the West Bank, which diverted attention from the threat coming from Gaza.
The investigations confirmed that the "policies of buying calm" adopted by Israel, through economic concessions and the opening of the crossings, gave Hamas a golden opportunity to heavily arm and prepare for a deliberate invasion.
Three of the kibbutz's settlers were accidentally shot dead by the Zionist army, in one of the biggest field failures.
In addition, investigations revealed that the surveillance cameras in the kibbutz did not work on the morning of the attack due to a power outage, which allowed Al-Qassam operatives to sneak freely without being detected.
Hebrew media explained that Unit 8200 and other Zionist intelligence services failed to catch the early signals, despite Hamas operatives broadcasting the attack live on Facebook without interference or monitoring.
The Zionist army acknowledged: There is a severe shortage of equipment, weapons and soldiers, describing this defect as a "fatal disease" that was evident during the October 7 attack.
The investigation also indicated that a camera found with the three fighters revealed an attempt to blow up the wall to enter more resistance fighters, but operational issues prevented the success of the operation, avoiding "Israel" a wider security disaster, according to the Palestine Today Agency.
