Japanese Naomi Osaka, formerly ranked first in the world and currently 56th, bid farewell to the Indian Wells Tennis Championship with 1,000 points from the first round, after losing today to Colombian Camila Osorio, ranked 52nd in the world, in two sets to none, with (4-6) and (4-6).

Osorio will play in the second round with Danish Clara Towson, who won the Auckland Tennis Championship title after Osaka withdrew.
